Geocache Description:

Mini series set in Lousehill Copse.  Slippery when wet so take care unless you want to get covered in mud!

A small well-hidden natural mature woodland surrounded by housing, Lousehill Copse is tucked away along Tay Road with mature oak and hazel woodlands. Bluebells and other spring flowers are plentiful.
The northern section is known as Comparts Plantation, an open grassy meadow area with gorse and broom on the higher sections. Sandy soil can be clearly seen and is a very popular digging site with local children.
Pedestrian entrances: Delaney Close, Norcot Hill opps. Tylers Rest, Dee Road and Elvaston Way. Informal pathways around perimeter and across the site. Very steep in areas, streams cross footpaths.
Became part of West Reading Woodlands LNR in November 1992
Comparts Plantation section contains a deep pit - a remnant of the clay excavations which used to supply the brick industry. Woodlands has coppice stools used last century.
This cache is a snap-lock box suitable for small swaps and trackables.  Please replace exactly as you found it. Placed with the kind permission of Reading Borough Council Parks and Open Spaces Development team
