Geocache Description:

Cache is located at the Barnwall Plains Picnic area. Fom here a foot track leads up to the summit of Mt torbreck. Access is via Barnwell Plains Rd from the Jamieson-Eildon Rd. Four wheel drive prefered however it is 2 wheel drive accessible.

Access: From the Goulburn Valley Highway travel along the Eildon Jamison Rd for 10.5 km to Barnwall Plains Rd, turn right (South). Follow this road for 6.5 km and arrive at Barnwell Plains, a delightful picnic area, camping permitted. (no toilets) Note that in winter (Queens Birthday to Cup day) the road is closed about 1.5km below Barnwall Plains( 20 minute walk) If you are feeling fit, a trip from the carpark to the summit of Mt Torbreck and return takes 2 to 3 hours (http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=3513615). There is a magnificent cairn on the summit built by Ellery for the geodeic survey of Victoria. Great views. From the car park it is possible to continue south, returning to the Goulburn Valley Highway via Snob's Creek Rd. A visit to the falls is worth while.
