It is the dead of winter. Football is almost done and the spring thaw and active geocaching is still a ways off. What to do? Well, let's get together and have a geocaching event!

We have the large banquet room reserved. This will allow us to lay out our collections of geocoins and signature items for some show and tell. And because it is a buffet, we can move about the room without having to worry about the wait staff having to find us.
They are giving us a special flat rate of $13.00 per person (age 12 and up) - this includes food, beverage, tax, and gratuity. Children's prices are significantly less and are based on age, with the highest being $6.00 for age 11.
Please be sure to log your "Will Attend" with the number in your group so that they can make sure to have enough staff on hand to serve our group.
Bring your collection - come see the collections of others - learn about geocoins and signature items - maybe even sell or trade - or just have dinner and hang out with your geocaching buddies and perhaps make some new friends.

Thanks to GxProxy, I think we have something for door prizes for at least every caching team, if not every person in attendance. In addition, the purveyors of everyone's favorite sig item have provided a special redemption code that will allow people to customize their own promo code for use on that site.
At 6:00pm we'll hand out door prizes and I have unactivated geocoins for at least four contest categories:
- The person who brings the largest geocoin collection to the event
- The person who brings the largest sig item collection to the event
- The person who has a travelbug/geocoin that has logged the most miles
- The person whose travelbug/geocoin is currently the farthest from Indianapolis - as figured by the last cache it visited or was dropped in
If you think you qualify for one of these last two, please bring the TB code to the event and I'll have a computer that we can check them out.
Thanks to Pirate4Hire to for donating two of his personal geocoins for the event. I also have from my collection for prizes: a 2010 Lackey geocoin (it's HUGE!) and a 2011 Compass Rose Geocoin - Dawn to Dusk. All of these geocoins are unactivated.
