This was once a busy part of town, and home to the County Hospital, Sierra Railroad Depot, Tuolumne Foundry, Hales and Symons Lumber and Feed, and the Whitt Mill. Times change though, and the bustle has since moved to other areas of the county. As a testament to the past, some of the old buildings still remain, some scattered equipment, the Sierra's rails, and the abandoned electrical circuitry that once powered industry and bathed the entire area with the glow of progress and prosperity.
