[ITA] Questa multi vi porterà alla scoperta delle mura di Montagnana e delle porte che permettono l'accesso alla città medievale.
[ENG] This multi-cache will lead you to the discovery of Montagnana city walls and of the gates that give access to the medieval city.


[ITA] Le mura di Montagnana costituiscono uno degli esempi meglio conservati di architettura militare medioevale in Europa e risalgono alla metà del Trecento. La città fortificata è racchiusa in un quadrilatero irregolare delle dimensioni di circa 600 x 300 metri, con un perimetro di circa due chilometri.
L'accesso alla città era inizialmente controllato da due porte fortificate poste sui lati Est, verso Padova, ed Ovest, verso il veronese.
Solo più tardi, nel '500, fu aperta a Nord una terza porta in direzione di Vicenza, mentre alla fine dell'Ottocento un quarto varco fu praticato per consentire l'accesso alla stazione ferroviaria.
Per iniziare la caccia, cerca lungo le mura della città (anche in macchina), e individua la porta più recente.
[ENG] Montagnana city walls are one of the best preserved examples of medieval military architecture in Europe and date back to the middle of the fourteenth century. The walled city is enclosed in an irregular rectangle of approximately 600 x 300 meters, with a perimeter of about two kilometers.
The access to the city was initially controlled by two fortified gates on the East side, towards Padua, and on the West, towards Verona.
Only on a later moment, during the sixteenth century, a third gate was opened on the North side, in the direction of Vicenza, while a fourth passage was opened in the late nineteenth century to allow access to the train station.
To start your hunt, search along the city walls (even by car) and find out the more recent gate.
