Geocache Description:

Salt Spring Stamping Grounds Alphabet Series Y/Z: HAG 9

Time to go a little postal and Channel your inner world traveler on SuperNatural Salt Spring Island! Hidden somewhere on the Channel Ridge trail system are 13 caches containing pairs of postage stamps, in alphabetical order, from around the world. Your challenge is to locate all 13 caches, identify where the stamps are from, and record an A-Z list that you can use to locate the Salt Spring Stamping Grounds Culmination Cache! This series was selected as Best Trail Series of the 9th Annual Hide and Go event!
A few hints:

* Each cache name ends with a two-letter designation. (Ex: A/B) The two stamps inside will be from a current nation, former country, protectorate, or territory that begin with those letters.
* The caches are hidden in alphabetical order if you start your search at the right spot! The Channel Ridge trail system has many access points. Figure out the best place to park for A/B and away you go!
* The series trail is designed as a partial loop that leads you to a northerly viewpoint. From there, it is possible to return to your starting point via another trail that will take you past 4 other caches, including "V is for Vanilla Leaf" from the Leaf & Feather series.
* You may want to bring a magnifying glass to get a closer view of each stamp!
* Many of the stamps feature the name of the place in English, but some don't! You may have to do a little research to figure out where they are from if you aren’t an experienced philatist.
* To be of use to locate the final cache, your alphabetical record list should be in English.
* Please do not remove the stamps from the containers. They are laminated and glued in and will hopefully stay secure.
* Though these caches are starting with nice little pencils, it is always a good idea to bring along your own writing tool. All containers are small lock 'n locks covered in green tape.
* Enjoy your world travels!

The Channel Ridge trails are very well marked and maintained. They can be a bit wet and muddy during the rainy season, but are usually very passable and wide. There are some uphill and downhill sections, but nothing too strenuous. Along the way, you'll come upon inspiring viewpoints, babbling creeks, quiet forests, impressive bluffs, and many people walking dogs, mountain biking and even horseback riding. There are large maps at most of the trailheads as well as a supply of small pocket maps to use on your trip. The caches are all hidden within 20 meters of the main trail and there is no serious bushwhacking required.

Last of the stamp caches! You should have arrived at a north-facing viewpoint with an opportunity to see Galiano Island in the distance. If you turn right around, you'll see a small cliff face across the trail that looks quite dramatic. The cache isn’t hidden there! Without getting too close to fall off the edge of the viewpoint, look for a large moss-covered rock below and to the east a bit.
