Geocache Description:

This cache is mystery cache concerning Nagakubo Sekisui.


Nagakubo Sekisui（長久保 赤水） is a geographer in the middle of Edo era, and, the Japanese map that the graticule had entered for the first time was made by him.　This map is called an alias (Sekisui map).
 Sekisui map was able to be published 42 years before the map of Ino Tadataka, and during approximately 100 years until the early days of the Meiji era, it was used by the populace at large.
This cache is mystery cache. The shown coordinate is Nagakubo Sekisui statue in front of Takahagi Station. Therefore, this cache is not there.

このキャッシュは長久保赤水に関するミステリーキャッシュです。
長久保 赤水は、江戸時代中期の地理学者であり、初めて経緯線の入った日本地図を作成しました。この地図は、通称(赤水図)と呼ばれています。赤水図は、伊能忠敬の地図より42年前に出版され、明治初期までの約100年の間、一般庶民に利用されていました。
