Aksnesstranden er en av de mest besøkte badestrendene på Haugalandet.
The Aksnes Beach is one of the most visited beaches in the Haugalandet region.
Aksnesstranden ble bygget opp som friluftsområde på 50-tallet som et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom Avaldsnes og Haugesund kommune. Avaldsnes var egen kommune frem til 1965, og strakk seg også innover fastlandssiden av Karmøy, helt inn til Tysværgrensen. I dag er Avaldsnes en del av Karmøy kommune. Aksnesstranden består av sand, svaberg, steiner og gress, så vær tidlig ute om du ønsker en flekk av sand. Man kommer til stranden ved å følge Spannavegen sørover til man kommer til skiltet avkjørsel mot stranden. Parkering skjer ca 200m fra stranden.
During the 50s, the Aksnes Beach was established as a cooperation between the Avaldsnes and Haugesund county. Up to 1965, Avaldsnes was a county, but today a part of Karmøy county. Avaldsnes county extended on both the island and the mainland of today's Karmøy county. Rocks, pebbles, grass and sand are all elements on the beach, but you should be an early bird if you want a part of the sandy area. Driving southbound on Spannavegen, a sign will tell you where the beach is. The distance from the parking to the beach is approximately 200 meters.
