Geocache Description:

Cheekybev's First Cache so please be gentle with me, hopefully it will the first of many .
 
I was a walker long before I became a geocacher and when I was thinking about where to place my first cache I thought about my local favourite walks most of which already had caches in place. So this cache is placed in a spot I think you will all enjoy.

The cache is close to Merrydale Waterfall in Slaithwaite. It is next to a disused mill pond which once fed Clough House Mill, the mill was built in 1790 and demolished in 1977. Rumour has it that it was attacked by the Luddites in 1812.
 
This is a stand alone cache although there are a few other caches in the Merrydale Valley that could quite easily make up a circular walk.
 
You are looking for a small lock and lock containing a logbook, pencil and a few small swaps
