Bryan Park is a 34-acre community park in Downsville, LA. It features a 3-acre pond, surrounded by a walking trail, and around 40 species of trees. The park's pavilion features an eco-friendly design with water-less toilets, the first in Louisiana park history. There are also boardwalks and benches where you can take time to enjoy the beauty of the park, which is an official wildlife refuge and habitat.
Bryan Park was originally part of the Bryan Sausage company. In April 2007, Bill and Sue Bryan donated the land to the Village of Downsville, with the stipulation that it be used as a public community park.
There are currently 5 traditional geocaches located along the walking trail, and many more in the surrounding area of Union Parish.

Updates: Lake D'Arbonne State Park campsites 13-20 have been reserved by our group; as of today (March 16), plenty of sites are available adjacent to ours. So pack up a camper or tent, & join us for the weekend! (All sites come with a tent pad, so if you are tent camping, post here, & one of us will let you set up on our site for free. My site, #17, is great for that, because the trail to the bathhouse is right behind it.)

Continue on the gravel drive until you reach the parking area. Overflow parking is alongside the gravel drive.

It's just a short walk to the pavilion.

The pond is stocked with catfish, bass, & chinquapin. You are welcome to wet a hook, but be advised that a fishing license is required. The 16'X16' floating pier is supported by 32 sealed Coke syrup barrels, so it sways.

Across the pond are a boardwalk & an observation bridge.
