It is OK to park in the Keck Observatory parking lot.
Please respect the property owner and treat the area gently. Do not disturb or damage any vegetation or rock walls. The container is the size of a typical canned good from the grocery store. A pretty easy find. It is in a relatively open area, so please be discrete.
While you are there, if the Keck Observatory public visitor center is open (10:00 am – 2:00 pm M-F) , you should definitely stop in. This is a world class facility doing amazing scientific research! This is their headquarters. The actual telescope is up on the top of Mauna Kea.
