Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are for the parking area. You need to follow the clue to find the cache / letterbox.

Conservation Area is open from 4am to 10pm, but since the clue is visual, I recommend going in daylight.

Letterboxing started in England in 1854. Present Day Letterboxing involves seeking out letterboxes by following clues and then record the find in a personal journal with the help of a rubber stamp that's part of the letterbox. Then letterboxers have their own personal stamp that they use to stamp into the letterbox's journal/logbook.

Please DO NOT REMOVE THE STAMP NOR THE JOURNAL from the letterbox part of this cache.
There are trade items in the regular part of the cache.

The title of this cache is in reference to the stamp in the letterbox part. I have hand carved a stamp from a poster from World War I. Bring an ink pad and paper if you wish to get an imprint from the stamp. Black ink will work but red ink would be better.

Clue:
On Highway 63, just south of Rolla, Missouri, is a small parking lot for the Beaver Creek Conservation Area. Park in the parking lot and look for the trail head on the north end of the parking lot. A short distance down the trail takes you to a small walking bridge over a creek. Once across the bridge, stop. In clock directions, with straight off the bridge as 12 o'clock; look up the hill at about 2 o'clock and you will see a large tree that has fallen and a tree stump left behind. It's about 50 steps from the bridge. At the tree stump look under a pile of bark to find the cache/letterbox.

Special Use Permit has been granted by the Conservation Area office.
