I tips me hat to ya! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kev the Rev: Sadly, failing health and the inability to access some of my caches has forced me to abandon some of them. Although disabled they will remain in place for those who already have them in their GPS units for at least the forseeable future. To claim any disabled caches go to the owners profile page, click on the caches and all caches (active and disabled) will be shown. simply claim the find as you normally would.

Geocache Description:

An easy drive by with reason to take a few photos of the tree and of the landscape toward the mines.

Recently the miners started leaving hats festooned all over this long dead tree, I thought I'd better place a cache here to mark the place and to give you reason to get out and stretch your legs.
The cache is an Eclipse can in a nearby bush, the place is marked outside the bush and there is another marker over the cache to make it a nice easy find. Recent information tells this story: After 20years of constant contract mining the company HWE was replaced at short notice putting many miners out of work. On their last shift for HWE it became usual for the workers to stop at this tree and place their no longer needed work hats here. At this point you can still see the mine to the South West. Is this a reminder? Is this to remind the new workers that they work at the expense of others? Is it to taunt the new company?
