Geocache Description:

A four stage multi that takes you on a trip down Old Liberty Rd., showing you some intersting natural features and culminating in a whimsical hide in a little known park.

Posted coordinates take you to Stage # 1: Grand Old Sycamore.  Here you will find a beatiful and majestic old sycamore tree.  There is also a benchmark at this location, an added bonus!

The coordinates for stage#2, Grand Old Sycamore's Brother are as follows: N 39 24.XY1 W 076 58.QR7

To find stage two, you will need to calculate the following:

X= 1st digit of benchmark year +7
Y= 3rd digit of benchmark year +5
Q= Nearest telephone pole # divided by 7
R= Nearest telephone pole # add digits of the number and subtract 2

19FEB2017 Update: the bench mark has been stolen. You can still find this hide tough, it just takes a little more effort. On this page, below the description, but above the logs, you will find a link to "All nearby benchmarks. Click on that link, then click on the link to the nearest benchmark, JV0750. On the resulting page, there are numerous photos of the benchmark from those who have found it before, and you can get the required data from one of those.

At stage two there is a GPS Beacon Hidden. A GPS beacon is a device that broadcasts a message to your GPSr which will then receive and display the message, and use it as a follow on waypoint. This is a Garmin Chirp device, compatible with certain models of their GPSr units. If you use beacon capable models of that brand of GPSr (see their website), you can enable beacon search mode, and when you are within ~30FT of the beacon, your GPSr will receive the beacon data which you can then use to point you to stage three. Thus usually takes about a minute.

Note that use of the beacon is NOT required. In the interest of being equal opportunity cache owners, you can also accomplish this stage by following a more traditional pattern thus:

The coordinates for Stage#3 These Stairs Lead...are as follows: N 39 25.ET8 076 59.MS2

There is a neighborhood sign at this location. You can figure out the coordinates for stage three by using the clues below. By consecutive letter of the alphabet, we mean: a=1, b=2, c=3 and so forth.

E= Neighborhood sign second word 1st letter is the what consecutive letter of the alphabet? subtract seven from that.
T= Neighborhood sign second word 2nd letter is what consecutive letter of the alphabet? Divide that by 5.
M= Neighborhood sign second word last letter is what consecutive letter of the alphabet? Use the last digit of that number.
S= Neighborhood sign first word first letter is what consecutive letter of the alphabet? Subtract 16 from that.

The coordinates to stage three take you to the steps that lead to the Pine Corridor.

Stage #4 Jeremy's Fine Work: N 39 25.JK2 W 076 59.DF9

Follow the paw prints to the vertical numbers on box in front of you to determine:
J= second number from top minus 6. K=first number from top minus 1
D=third number from top divided by 2
F=bottom number plus 5

Enroute to stage four, go up the stairs and follow the path through the pines... Stage #4 Jeremy's Fine Work is the final. It is here that you will find the cache, hidden in the belly of the beast!

Please re-hide the cache far back in where you found it!

As with all your searches, please do some research, and use good voyage planning techniques. Know your limitations, employ risk management, and don’t take on something that is beyond your capability. Some of you do this all the time, some rarely; in the end, it is you who are accountable for what happens to you, mentally, emotionally and physically as the result of seeking this hide.
