La Tour Montparnasse, appelée tour Maine-Montparnasse, est un gratte-ciel de 59 étages du 15e arrondissement de Paris. Sa hauteur de 210m en fait pendant longtemps l'immeuble le plus haut de France, avant l'achèvement de la tour First (2011).
Tour Maine-Montparnasse also commonly named Tour Montparnasse, is a 210-metre (689 ft) office skyscraper located in the Montparnasse area of Paris, France.

La construction de la tour fait suite à la décision de la ville de Paris de réorgnaiser le quartier de la gare, en 1934.
En 1958, les premières études sont lancées mais le projet est vivement critiqué du fait de la hauteur du bâtiment.
Une polémique commence et entraîne des ralentissements dans le projet.
En 1968, André Malraux, alors ministre de la culture de Georges Pompidou qui soutient le projet, accorde le permis de construire de la Tour.
C'est en avril 1970 que la première pierre est posée, et la tour sera inaugurée en 1973.

Constructed from 1969 to 1973, it was the tallest skyscraper in France until 2011, when it was surpassed by the 231 m (758 ft) Tour First. As of June 2013, it is the 14th tallest building in the European Union. The tower was designed by architects Eugène Beaudouin, Urbain Cassan and Louis Hoym de Marien and built by Campenon Bernard.
Built on top of the Montparnasse – Bienvenüe Paris Métro station, the 59 floors of the tower are mainly occupied by offices. The 56th floor, with a restaurant called le Ciel de Paris, and the terrace on the top floor, are open to the public for viewing the city. The view covers a radius of 40 km (25 mi); aircraft can be seen taking off from Orly Airport.
