A short walk from the Old Datsun Trail parking lot at 12001 Burnt Store Road. In the Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park.
The Old Datsun Trail winds through restored farmland and is now returning to its historical ecological condition. A big contributor to the restoration was a 1982 Datsun compact pickup truck. This truck gave it's life eliminating invasive exotic plants and cutting this trail for your enjoyment! About 20 years ago, the trail was named in its honor and because our staff is too modest to take the credit for all of the work that went into this trail.
The cache is at the trailhead, but I hope you take the time to experience the trail and avout 15 caches along the trail system between here and the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center. It's my first cache. Please let me know if their are any issues with the coordinates. I checked them 8 times! Thorny plants and scratchy palmettos earned this a 2 for Terrain Difficulty.
