This is my first puzzle cache placed with permission in Westmoreland Park. There is a $3.00 parking fee on the weekdays and a $4.00 parking fee on the weekends. Placed with permission. You can solve this puzzle by going to the above coordinates and learning more about the CCC. The coordinates are at a parking area. There is a sign that you can get the information needed to complete the puzzle in between the parking lot and water fountain.
A= How many million men where put to work . B= The last digit in the year the CCC ended. C= Number of Virginia State Parks build by the CCC. D= Last digit in the year the stock market crashed. N 38 09.(D-B),0,(A) W 076 52.[D-(A+C)],(C),(D ) The final coordinates are not very far from the parking area. Westmoreland State Park is one of Virginia's original state parks opened in June 1936. The park was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The project created numerous jobs during a period of great hardship. Most of the roads and trails found in the park were originally dug by hand. Located on the Northern Neck Peninsula, the park is just minutes away from George Washington’s birthplace and Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee. Near this location you may see remains of what is left from the CCC camp. The water fountain near the sign was restored a few years ago and was origionally build by the CCC. Hope you enjoy the history lesson.
