The City of Yuma will Proclaim
February 10th 2013 as Geocaching Day here in Yuma to Celebrate our Mega Event!
Lets all wear our S*W*A*G Shirts to this meeting and meet at Lutes afterwards for a meal or a beverage.
Here is a sample of the Proclamation but it's not final yet:
Whereas, South West Arizona Geocachers have developed Yuma Arizona into a destination of Geocaching activity and created an abundant amount of clever geocaches.
and
Whereas, Global Positioning Systems were developed and tested over the sands of the Arizona desert at Yuma Proving Grounds.
and
Whereas, Geocaching increases tourism promotes physical activity, and discovering the great outdoors once again
and
Whereas, the gathering of over a thousand spirit filled adventurers in one of the City of Yuma's beautiful parks, which is also a United States National Heritage area and the great Gateway to the west.
