About SideTracked Caches
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. Its a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website
About Metheringham Station
The station was opened to passengers on 1 July 1882 named Blankney & Metheringham. It later closed to passengers on 11 September 1961 and later reopened on 6 October 1975 named Metheringham.
Metheringham Railway Station is now owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Trains who provide all rail services in this area.
The station is unstaffed and offers limited facilities other than two shelters, bicycle storage, timetables and modern 'Help Points'.
The full range of tickets for travel are purchased from the guard on the train at no extra cost, there are no retail facilities at this station.
The signal box at the south of the station is called 'Blankney' and operates the level crossing on the B1189 road.
