This cache brings you to the site of the coal dump for the New Acland open cut coal mine.
The coal is trucked from the nearby coal mine to this site for loading onto the coal trains.
Both local power stations and export markets use this coal.
Whether you are for or against this coal dump or coal mining in general it is certainly an impressive sight. Especially with the bulldozers perched high atop the mountains of coal.
Please park in the nearby truck rest area which is located on the Jondaryan side of the cache on the westbound side of the highway.
