Kangaroo Point is a popular recreation spot, conveniently close to the city and the South Bank Parklands. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs, situated on the east bank of the city bend of the Brisbane River, provide a beautiful view of the city at night. The cliffs were created by convicts mining the volcanic rock during the time of the convict settlement (1825–41) and have had a great many uses ever since.
The Kangaroo Point Stairs are located at the eastern end of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. The 107 steps from bottom to top provide a great workout with awesome views. The stairs consist of fairly long flights and are quite steep in some parts I don’t suggest you run down them the first time, walk and once you know what you’re in for then run them. If you can run up and down 15 times in 30mins you are doing well
