Welcome to Academic Building 7, one of Florida Gulf Coast University’s many buildings certified through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system. Some examples of how this building in particular is working to lessen our carbon footprint include:
  • Showers and changing rooms to encourage bicycling to class
  • High-efficiency bathroom fixtures (go in and check out a toilet!)
  • Specialized outdoor lighting to reduce night sky pollution
  • Drought resistant, native plants surrounding building that require no watering
