Frank Holten State Park lies in the heart of east St Louis. 1,000 plus acres for geocaches to be hidden. I live close to this area so thought why not but a cache here? Probably everybody knows the reputation of East Saint Louis for crime and auto theft just use common sense and you will be fine. Hunt durning daylight maybe even grab a buddy to go with you.
Nice little Pavillion are overlooking the Lake, thought this would be a good spot for a cache so we placed on here. A larger then average pill bottle with electrical tape. DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD or the GRASS at anytime. Had a meeting with Thomas Orlet about the caches in the Park. He knows where the caches are and is okay with geocaching in the park. If you see a DNR or Park truck just wave and say high. 1. Geocache is placed on Department managed property with permission, (Thomas Orlet).2. Do not place the following items in the Geocache: Food items, inappropriate, offensive, or hazardous materials. 3. It is the visitors responsibility or orient themselves with policies and rules pertaining to this Department managed site>
