Geocache Description:


This is the first official Hub City Cachers Event Cache!  We've had so many new members join the group since our last event, we just had to get one scheduled as soon as we could.  This will be a three-part event cache on Saturday, February 16th:

1) Group caching in Columbia and the surrounding area (as time permits) -- 9:00 a.m.
2) Tackling the infamous "Red Bluff" cache!  This is much safer in a group.  Ha! -- 11:00 a.m.
3) Barbecue lunch at the cliffs' edge! -- 12:00 noon

We'll first meet somewhere in Columbia (location will be listed as a waypoint soon, once we've analyzed the caches in the area) to spread out in as few cars as possible to do some group caching, intermingling veterans and rookies.  We'll cache until close to 11:00, when we'll head off to conquer Red Bluff (http://coord.info/GCHANB)!  Make sure you review the cache page before you decide to tackle this cache.  While it's not the worst terrain ever, it's certainly NOT your standard park and grab.  It will certainly be much easier this go around, with a team to support you. Mr. Watts (Watts39429) estimated it would take an hour to get the cache and return from the abyss.  Once we've made it back to solid ground, we'll have lunch.

Jeff (MacGyver69) is bringing his grill, and we'll be cooking hamburgers, hotdogs and maybe we can get our hands on some deer sausage.  Your Hub City Cachers Board of Directors will handle all the meats.  If everyone else would help out with sides, buns, plates/silverware/napkins, desserts, etc., that would be great.  In your "Will Attend" log, just post what you'll be bringing, and we'll keep a master list to make sure we have everything we need.

This event is open to ALL cachers, whether or not you are a member of Hub City Cachers, so please help us spread the word.  We'll just convert them later.  Ha!  The more the merrier!  But we do need people to post "Will Attend" logs so we know how many to prepare for.
