Geocache Description:

Large Matai

Heading North not long before reaching the top of the Karamea Bluff there's a small pull-over and sign saying "Large Matai". A short scruffy track leads to a magnificent specimen in deadly embrace with Rata vines. It somehow escaped the chop.


GPS readings are not very good due to terrain and tree cover so use the hint.
