Geocache Description:

This is the last in a series of 10 caches along the Eastwood County Road corridor... a real life ghost road!

The Eastwood County Road is an unbuilt road proposal stretching from Epping Road at North Ryde to Kissing Point Road at Dundas, via Eastwood. The reservation, wide enough to permit construction of a six-lane highway-standard road, was gazetted in July 1951 as part of the County of Cumberland Planning Scheme but was never constructed.

This section: The reservation on the other side of the steep gully located between Lambert Park and Brush Farm Park continues, as does Rutledge Street, and then changes into Stewart Street after crossing Marsden Road. Travelling west along Stewart Street there is a block of vacant land on the northern side, Lachlan Macquarie Park, and a reservoir operated by Sydney Water. Further along there is another vacant block on the same side, which is reserved for future construction of a grade-seperated interchange (this is where the cache is located), before the corridor ends when Stewart Street connects at the intersection of Kissing Point Road.

Other information: Please replace cache exactly as it was found to prevent it from being muggled/vandalised. BYO pen. This site also presents a good opportunity to practise CITO (Cache In Trash Out), so please bring a rubbish bag and help save our environment :)
