Howell Cemetery is located just east of Montra, on Montra road. There lies the remains of Timothy Wales, a soldier of the Revolutionary War and served with Gen. George Washington at the Battle of Valley Forge. He joined the army at the age of 17 and he served during the course of the entire war, eventually earning the rank of lieutenant. He died in 1825. Howell Cemetery is the resting place of two Civil War solders as well as a veteran from the war of 1812. Information was furnished by Misti Jane Spillman a native of Montra.
