Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but within a quarter mile. Also, do not try to park at the posted coordinates, or your car may end up looking like some of the relics found elsewhere in the Landlocked Forest. These coordinates are approximately where I was hoping the place the cache, but it just didn't work out that way.

One cold, barren, January day, wandering along a trail in Burlington Landlocked Forest, I spotted some trash out in the woods that was the same color as lots of the caches in the area. It turned out to be a cache that had been lost a few months ago: (GC3GH8B) V - Landlocked Forest! The cache had already been replaced, and I was about 1/10 mile from its location, so I thought it would be fun to place a new cache right where I had found it! However, due to proximity to other caches, it could not go there.

Looking at the map, I searched for a place near V where a new cache would fit.  That's not easy, as there are caches throughout Landlocked Forest, but there did seem to be a place nearby where it could be perfectly surrounded by 5 other caches!

When I started heading to that location, which was well off trail, it was looking like fun, lots of thorns and swampy, a good challenge. But then it occured to me that I had to maintain this cache. Maybe it wasn't really that fun, especially at any time other than mid-winter.  So I stopped in my tracks, looked for a good hiding spot, and left it there. And then came home to see if where I placed it would work. It did, but not by much!

You might be able to find it given that description, but you'll probably need some more information.  Here is the distance from the cache to the 6 surrounding caches:

You're going to have to do some bushwhacking to get to this cache - so be prepared for the worst. Thorns, mushy ground, ticks, probably some PI too.

You are looking for a small plastic container, the original V - Landlocked Forest cache, with the swag that was in the container when I found it, with a new logbook. I dropped the original log sheets back into the V cache. Good luck!
