Geocache Description:

The Bioswale cache is placed for the Duke Farm Foundation and the Northern New Jersey Cachers, "NNJC Geocaching Academy & Information Seminar", a Geocaching 101 class being held at Duke Farms, Feb. 10, 2013. This cache was placed to give folks new to Geocaching an easy first time cache to find near our Orientation Center and to teach them about one of DFF's sustainable landscape features: Bioswales

Parking for this cache can be found right near the coordinates for the cache since it is placed somewhere in the bioswales within our Orientation Parking lot.

Duke Farms Hours of Operation:

Thursday - Tuesday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

CLOSED Wednesdays

Slicing through the parking lot, these landscape elements capture surface runoff water and naturally filter pollution and silt before the runoff enters the watershed. The diagram below shows how this process is accomplished:
