Geocache Description:

Bike or Hike. In full, a 20 mile power trail taking in two counties, Cheshire and Flintshire. Starting in Cheshire Oaks on Route 563, the trail winds its way down to the Welsh border and on to the River Dee, eventually coming out in the outskirts of Chester City Centre. From there, we pick up Route 45 on to the canal, which evolves into Routes 56 and 5 until we come out onto the A5117. From there, the route heads back towards Cheshire Oaks, past the Designer Outlet and back to the start. The route is split up into five stages and these will be released at each launch event over the coming year. Dust down those bikes or polish your walking boots and get ready!

This is the second stage of the Bike or Hike trail, which is three miles long. New caches will be released during the afternoon but we will be meeting up in the morning to bike/hike the route. Each stage is linear and it is not compulsory to do the new caches, you could wait until they are all published or just come to the event.

The second event will be held at the Wheatsheaf pub in Mollington on Sunday 5th May 2013. We will be meeting officially from 17:30 but you are welcome to arrive earlier to order food. Food is served until 21:30. During the evening, there will be a May Day quiz to celebrate the upcoming holiday along with a raffle in aid of a Wirral based children's hospice set up in memory of Claire Louise Cain. Because of the event being on a Sunday, please check the Wheatsheaf's website in case of any price changes.

Any updates will be posted here:

Raffle ticket prices are the usual: 1 strip for £2 or 3 strips for £5. 1/5/2013 - The management have requested approxiamate numbers of people ordering food so if you could either email me or put a new log on the page stating whether you are eating and how many, it would be most appreciated. Also, they have asked that when we are standing, to not obstruct the kitchen doors. This is simply because it is difficult for staff to pass through with hot plates of food. Many thanks. Keep checking for more updates!

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves last night - I certainly did! The raffle raised an absolutely outstanding amount of £102 for Claire House. I've just sent the payment via PayPal and I'm sure that Claire House will be very grateful of your efforts.
