Parking is available but watch for wharf traffic. Also a great view of the wharves and breakwater. This is the best harbour on Cape Sable Island, and home to the Coast Guard boats in this area. The large two-story building on the hill is the Coast Guard office where crew on duty eat, sleep, and monitor the radios.
In the summer a seafood take-out is open in the area. Before the construction, take-out diners could park here to watch the boats and seagulls. However, now it's been made a summer parking lot for lobster boats and lobster storage "cars". In winter the area again becomes a large empty parking lot.
