When Kiyomaro Wakeno constructed Kamimachi plateau excavation in 788, associated with Horikawa whom he was about to dig.

 【難読地名】河堀口「こぼれぐち」
和気清麻呂が788年（延暦7年）に上町台地開削工事を行った際、掘りかけた堀川にちなむ
堀川は河堀（こぼり）といい、なまって「こぼれ」となり、その掘り始めた場所だから河堀口（こぼれぐち）となった。
