The first part of the hunt is done along a flat, paved trail and will eventually lead you off onto a side trail that is nothing but mud right now! When it's summer and drier, this will turn into hardpack that could be accessible by wheelchairs---up to a point that is about 40 feet from where the cache is hidden. We suggest that anyone hunting this cache before the "dry" season should probably wear boots.
This is a dog-themed cache because so many dogs like to go along on a geocache hunt! We've called it Beanie's Bow-Wow Box after our GeoDog, Maggie Bean Anklebiter, whom everyone just calls Beanie. Inside you'll find: a log book w/pen and pencil; 4 doggie tennis balls; 1 small carton of liver-flavored treats; 1 smallish bacon flavored chew-bone; 1 bag of chicken chewie treats, 2 cans of Mighty Dog dog food and 1 Wally Gator. Wally was Beanie's idea since she still has her very first Wally Gator---she loves to play tug-of-war with it! All items are tightly sealed in their original wrappers and then stuffed into zip-lock baggies.
Right now you'll have a fairly easy time getting a clear reading along the trail, but once the overhead canopy leafs out in full, it'll become pretty difficult and you may want to resort to using the cheater photographs provided. The cache is a clear Rubbermaid box with a green Geocaching sticker on the lid and it's hidden under some "bark!" (get it? Bow-wow...bark...bark....okay, so it's a bad pun---best we could come up with!)
