"Whale Jaw Hollow" is located in the heart of Dogtown, a woodland jewel in the center of Cape Ann
Isaac, Ann Marie, T, Bob and Sophie the Wonder Dog stashed a Tupperware cracker keeper holding a log book and some goodies. Dogtown is an abandoned community, reclaimed by the woods after the Civil War. Now, most of Dogtown is public space owned by the Towns of Gloucester and Rockport as a major watershed for public water supplies. There are many ways to enter Dogtown; In Gloucester via Goose Cove Reservoir, the end of Dennison Street and Dogtown Road off Cherry Street. In Rockport, via The Babson Museum property on Rt. 127 and the end of Squam Road. Many trails criss-cross the 3,600 acres of Dogtown and it's easy to get turned around. Maps of dogtwon are few, but may be found at local book stores. Once you visit Dogtown, you'll be hooked.
