March Madness is the nickname of the annual NCAA Men’s College Basketball tournament to determine the National Champion. The tournament consists of 68 teams, where after four play-in games (the “first four), 63 games are played over the course of three weeks in a single elimination tournament. The “Madness” aspect comes from the unpredictability and large number of upsets that occur.
The 2012 tournament totally busted my bracket from the round of 64. My pick to win, the Missouri Tigers, were knocked off by a number 15 seed in Norfolk State, making their first appearance in the big dance. Hopefully this year’s bracket doesn’t have as many red marks as that 2012 bracket. I compete in a group against some other fans to see who has the best bracket. Here’s my competition, who hid the coordinates from me to tease me for my terrible bracket:
