This cache is placed with permission in Mary Vestal Park and is only officially open from Dawn to Dusk. The best place to park is in the parking area who’s entrance is near the stop light where Blount Ave. changes to Maryville Pike. (N35 56.168 W083 54.876)
So who is Mary Vestal? Mary is the mother of two brothers born in the late 1800’s The brothers were James Park Vestal who died died in 1951 and Edward Mcmillan Vestal who died in 1946. The Brothers owned a hardwood lumber company called Vestal Lumber Co. In 1970 Vestal Lumber went out of business.
