Kircassock estate is situated not far from the village of Magheralin and is now a working farm. Although the main house has long been demolished the two gate houses, one on the Dromore Road and the other on the Lismaine Road are still standing and are both occupied. During the Second World War the main house became Headquarters of 8th United States Air Force Composite Command from November 1942 incorporating the 496th Fighter Training Group. It is belived that both Winston Churchill and General Eisenhower stayed at the house when visiting personel in Northern Ireland. Other visitors where the comedian Bob Hope, Americian film actress Dorothy Lamour and actor William Bendix who where there to entertain the troops. From 1942 to 1944 Kircassock House was used by many Americian troops and also by Belgian soliders from1944 to 1945.
The cache is a small container and is situated on the Lismaine Road across from the gate house.
