Geocache Description:

To mark The 11th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend on April 20 and 21, 2013, we have decided to organise a CITO event at one of the Cardiff River Banks on Saturday 20th April.

It's the 11th annual Cito Weekend!!!! What better way to earn a souvenir and help maintain a fantastic area of Wales!

The Ely trail is a fantastic walk from Cardiff Bay,

The Trail is a mainly off-road stone-dust path suitable for cyclists and walkers. The route passes through a variety of landscapes from the mouth of the river, to the rural and parkland landscapes around St Fagans. There are opportunities along the route for leisure activities including proximity to the International Sports Village and National History Museum and to visit sites of historic or environmental significance, for example the Pump House and Old Leckwith Bridge. Needless to say, there are some amazing caches along this route, but, alas it is not as well maintained by the Council as it should be! As the Cito event takes place along the river bank, this care should be taken to supervise children and dogs.

The majority of the trail is separated from the river by a fence, but there are some exposed areas of river used for fishing. Kick off time will be 10am, and due to finish around 4pm, so weather you wish to spend a full day with us, or just 20 mins, your help will be appreciated!

Car parking can be found allong Dunlevy Drive, at 51°27'7"N 3°11'19"W

Refreshments will be provided, along with refuse sacks, litter picking tools and gloves. All you need to bring is a good sense of humour and suitable weather dependent clothing.
