Patriots Path stretches from East Hanover where it connects with the Lenape Trail in Essex County to Allamuchy Mountain State Park in Sussex County and the Village of High Bridge in Hunterdon County. Any Morris County cacher worth their salt has been on Patriots Path. It is ubiquitous and traverses some of the most beautiful terrain in the county. However, there are some sections that I would bet that most cachers have never been on, nor even know that they exist.
This is the fifth of a series of caches to highlight these lesser known stretches and give them their due. You can see a listing off all of the caches in the series by clicking on the following link:
Listing of Lost Sections of Patriots Path caches
Cache is located in a stretch of Patriots Path which is hard between Evergreen Cemetery, the Whippany River and a largely unused spur of the Morristown & Erie railroad. The cemetery notes among its internments a Supreme Court justice, a U.S. senator, numerous congressmen, and a NJ governor. Please re-hide cache well and take note of the No Parking signs if you park on Garden Ave.
Please rehide properly to avoid muggling of this cache yet again!
