Geocache Description:

This should be an easy grab but it might fool you. Please be sure to replace the cache exactly where/how you found it!
Great lunchtime grab since there are burgers, pizza and sandwitches to be had nearby.

I have driven past this spot several times and pondered...
Why a trail to nowhere?
So I thought why not place a cache here to bring others to the curious spot.

The Pacific Electric Railway route to El Segundo used to run on top of the embankment just East of this cache. It crossed Sepulveda diagonally and if you look at Google Satellite map you can clearly see the route. There are still tracks in the street on Kansas just north of Grand. The tracks made a sweeping turn just below Mariposa then followed along the south side of Recreation Park, then ran along both sides of Grand Ave right in front of Ace Hardware. The El Segundo station was around Eucalyptus and Grand. Cars were stored on Grand west of Main street which is why Grand is a divided street in that area.

Thanks to Amtraker for this info!
