Reluctant Guitar and Mourning Moon
Once upon a time there was a guitar. From a young age the guitar made beautiful music, had many friends and many loves. But It didn't take long for the guitar to realize that although it had all those things it still had a perfectly round hole in it's center, it's heart. Over many years the guitar tried to fill it's perfectly round hole. It tried squares, triangles, octagons and even rectangles. And as it did it became weary that it would never find it's perfect fit.
One night while making wonderful music for the masses the guitar looked up and saw the moon. It being a full moon at the time, was bright and beautiful. The guitar knew that the moon would fit and fill it's hole. So, the guitar placed the moon in its heart. The moon fit the guitars hole perfectly and the guitar and moon we're very happy. The moon had never been as happy as it was placed in the center of the guitar.
Now the moon, because it had never known any different was full and bright at some times and small and dark at others. As a result the guitar decided that perhaps the moon wasn't the right shape after all and the guitar cast it back into the night.
The moon was once again all alone in the dark sky and it felt the worst pain of it's life.
Weeping often uncontrollably the moon knew it was missing something also. Only instead of missing a round hole in its center like the guitar, the moon was missing it's shell. A guitar shaped outer shell. A shell that protected the moon while the moon tried to learn all about what it was like to be whole, loved and a part of something special. You see my friends the guitar had shown the moon that anything was possible, even love.
Today the moon sometimes shines but it's never as bright as it once was in the center of the guitar. The moon sits alone, waiting for the day the guitar accepts it and places it back into its hole once again. Completing both the guitar and the moon forever.
Now every time it rains you will know that the moon is weeping, over the loss of the guitar. And until the guitar allows the moon to once again complete it, the moon will spend its days alone... knowing that the guitar showed it what it was like to be whole. And nothing but the guitar will stop the rain from falling from the moons eyes.
