The Port Hawkesbury playground is undergoing a major face-lift and revitalization. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Port hawkesbury and a community play groung committee, the playground is going to look vastly different over the next couple years. Two members of the Rotary Club are geocachers, and what a better way to kick off the playground revitalization project than with a geocaching cache in trash out event.
The area needs extensive clean up as years of debris and garbage have piled up along the perimeter of the current playground. This Cache in Trash Out event will be coordinated by the Rotary Club of Port Hawkesbury, and will bring together community members, Rotarians, boy scouts, geocachers, and youth to start the rebuild process for this community playground. Please review the FAQ about Cache in Trash Out events, and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. All geocachers will receive a special souvenier for attending this event, according to Groundspeak. The Rotary Club will ensure that appropriate equipment and supplies are on hand for the event. Hopefully, there will be t-shirts marking the event to purchase, and refreshments available. This is a great opportunity to come out as a community for an excellent cause. At this point in time the event will be official kicked off about 9:30 a.m.
