Geocache Description:

A circular walk of approximately 2.5 miles, containing 12 caches, on footpaths and quiet country lanes. There is a short stretch between 11 & 12 where you need to walk alongside the B1077 which can be busy and traffic does travel fast but the verges should be wide enough to walk on. The starting point is at the "Old Queens Head" pub which is now a house and there is a large layby here to park in, although it is sometimes popular during the day for drivers to have a snooze!

This walk is where, as a child, I used to exercise my horse (hence Great Ellingham Gallop), we used to enjoy walking and trotting around the country lanes and then having a good old gallop along the path at the side of the field.

Please be very careful to replace the cache in exactly the same place as found in order not to spoil it for others and please use the suggested waypoint for parking as there is nowhere to park along the country lanes.

After No. 3 you might like to take a detour and find GC3NPT2 - Sleeping Bridge. If not the footpath goes from this cache straight across the middle of the field. There is a post marking the footpath route which is visible from No. 3

To get to No 3 we have added a reference point - the easiest way is to go straight to reference point from No 2 and turn left, this is the shortest route across the field, then turn right and walk alongside the field with the ditch on your left - apologies the farmer doesn't appear to be maintaining the footpaths - no need to go through any "No Public Access" areas
