Travelling the full 903 Smart Bus route in Melbourne will take a cacher in a large arc from Mordialloc through the south-eastern suburbs to Box Hill, Doncaster, Heidelberg, and then along Bell Street to Essendon and then to Sunshine and back to the bay at Altona. The full trip from end to end by bus will take approx 4 hours.
The “Caching by 903 Bus” series of caches was intended as a set which will highlight some of the key points along this route, and take in a few other interesting sights and places along the route as well.
This cache is part of the eastern half of the route, from Heidelberg to Mordialloc, and there are quite a few other caches along this route which are interesting to pick up as well.
All of these caches were all placed while using the bus. While the intent was to use the 903 bus if possible to find the series, the caches may be found individually by those who may not want to put in the time needed for the full trip.
So, get on the bus, get off at the appropriate stop, pick up the cache, and get back on the next bus to come along. The wait is usually only about 15 minutes between each bus.
