Se hai intenzione di riposizionarla puoi farlo entro 3 mesi dall'archiviazione; una volta completata l'operazione per favore mandami un messaggio.
Sarò più che lieto di controllare nuovamente la cache per verificare la sua conformità con le linee guida.

San Defendente

La Chiesa di San Defendente, inizialmente dedicata ai santi Nazzaro e Celso, ha origini molto antiche: i primi documenti che ne parlano risalgono al IX secolo.

L’edificio ha subito diversi rimaneggiamenti nei secoli: i più evidenti sono l’aggiunta della sacrestia fra campanile e presbiterio e della cappella seicentesca dei defunti a lato della facciata. Anche l’interno è stato modificato rispetto all’aspetto originario, e si presenta come un’aula unica absidata, divisa in due campate.

Un recente restauro ha messo in luce gli antichi affreschi risalenti al 1400/1500; nell’abside si riconosce il Padre Eterno mentre sull’arcone trionfale l’Annunciazione. Lo stile è tardo gotico anche se non mancano spunti rinascimentali.

Il campanile è costruito con pietre appena sbozzate disposte in file regolari, con evidenti rinforzi agli angoli. Nella parte bassa le aperture sono semplici feritoie mentre in alto si apre una bifora con archivolti in capitello di tufo.

Sul lato meridionale troviamo una specchiatura coronata da una coppia di archetti che consente di datare il campanile all’XI secolo.

The church of St. Defendente, before dedicated to the saints Nazzaro and Celso, has very ancient origins: the first documents which mention it date back to the 9^th century.

The building was modified many times throughout the centuries, the most obvious is the addition of a sacristy between the bell tower and the presbytery, and the 17^th century funeral chapel at the side of the façade: the inside has also been altered from its original aspect and has a single hall with apse divided into two bays.

A recent restoration work has brought to light the ancient 15^th/16th century frescoes. In the absidal basin is shown God, and in the triumphal arch the Annunciation.

The bell tower is built of rough-hewn stones, arranged in even rows and with reinforcements in the corners. There are simple slit-windows opening at the bottom, and at the top a two-light window with arched vaults and capitals made of tufa. On the south wall there is an arched recess crowned by a pair of small arches which date the bell tower back to the 11^th century.
