Geocache Description:

A quiet walk along the beach with awesome views of Greenwich Bay, Goddard Park, and Warwick Neck.  This is the first in a short series of caches designed to bring cachers to public access points on Rhode Island's shoreline, particularly Greenwich Bay.  BYOP.

Depending on the method used, Rhode Island has close to 400 miles of coastline.  In an effort to provide the public with access Rhode Island's greatest natural resource, The RI Coastal Resources Management Council has established close to 350 coastal access points throughout the state.  Many of these access points are boat ramps or public beaches, such as the two at Goddard Park.  Many, however, are lesser known.  These hidden gems reward their patrons with oftentimes spectacular views of RI's numerous coves and, of course, Narragansett Bay.

CRMC access point J24 is located at the end of Nausauket Road.  From there, GZ is a short stroll along the sand to a curious feature.  Perhaps this was a playground at one time before sea level rise and erosion claimed the land? Your feet should stay dry unless there is an extremely high tide, so it might be worth checking the tides before attempting this one. Despite the houses, this is a quiet spot for taking in the sea breeze, walking the geopup, or exploring the Nausauket Marsh a few meters past GZ.

As this is an access point within a neighborhood, please do not attempt this cache at night.  In addition to potentially disturbing the neighbors, visiting this cache at night will prevent you from enjoying the beauty of this location.  The container is meant to be removed from the camo in order to retrieve the log. Please do so gently and make sure everything is put back together properly.

High fives to simsimahh4 for the ftf!
