Geocache Description:

Well, at least the last letterbox we got to on the sealed road.

We had a weekend in Akaroa and headed over to explore Wainui and what ever else we thought we could poke our nose. We had a great time. This was the end of the sealed road and looked like only farm access from the last letterbox. We stopped and there was a lot of low cloud out to sea and it stopped short of the Akaroa harbour. Mrs TheWanglers and I were looking out to the South Head and we commented on the cache we went to last time we stayed in Akaroa. I thought this would be a great spot for a cache. I had a look in the cache bag and I hobbled togeather a make shift cache. All essentials are there. Our working title was 'Southern Blast' as we thought that this was probably on of the three only days it wouldn't be blowing here. After looking at the photos we changed the name to 'The Last Letterbox...". The last photo is me at GZ. The road is sealed and is windy and steep at spots. But there is a good parking and turn around spot at the end of the sealed road. Fantastic views and a simple 'park and grab'. Have fun. I hope you get good views when you visit.
