This little neighborhood oasis was recently built by our M.U.D. and we are very excited to have a green space like this along our regular walking route to let the dogs off leash a little bit. Since we live so close and drive by, walk by or come here almost every day, we wanted to hide a cache to share the park with you.
On this day, I was still temporarily handicapped and had been basically indoors for eight weeks of recovery. The nice weather outside was really tempting me to go out and play. After all, Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow yesterday, so winter is ending and spring is on its way. So I got in my wheelchair and we took the three dogs out to the park to play.
I have not used the wheelchair much, and never in the neighborhood streets. We knew from the boy's biking experiences that the streets slant, but feeling that out in the wheelchair for the first time was a real challenge to my arm. The wheelchair kept pulling to the right and I was having to push the right wheel really hard to keep it straight. Finally, we decided it was faster to try a different technique.
With Team Four Paw pushing, and the dogs wanting to pull, we finally made it to the park. We sat for a while near the cache site and watched the dogs romp, butterflies flit about, and listened to the birds chirp about the arrival of spring. It was very peaceful and I hope your experience with this cache find is similiar. Afterwards, we pushed and pulled our way back to the house.
This is a small cache and the area is accessible by wheelchair, although you would want someone else to to the reaching for you, unless you had a grabber of sorts. I got it to the location but Team Four Paw had to put it in its proper place.
