Geocache Description:

You will find this cache along a trail/road that cuts through the McLaughlin Eastshore State Park.

The cache is another one of my "wild bird caches"--each of which is named after wild bird species that I happened to see from GZ while hiding the cache.

This particular cache is dedicated to the Great Egret (also called the Common Egret) which is a brilliant white shorebird that is very common in the SF Bay Area.  Egrets are typically found around shorelines, marshes, rivers and lakes, slowly prowling shallow water or mud flats with their long legs looking for small fish or animals which they quickly snatch with their long sharp beaks.

As I placed this cache, there were several egrets methodically working the mud flat created by low tide on the north side of the road.  As you walk out to GZ, make sure to look for more (or other types of birds).

The cache itself is a micro placed in a fairly obvious area but the exact location might require a bit of searching.

Parking is available at either end of the road (off Frontage or Marina Roads).
