Welcome to our first cache in Sri Lanka. We were returning from another cache when we past this "Tunnel 36" between Idalgashinna and Haputale railway station. We thought this could be a nice place to keep a cache. Last some meters is sone difficult but a nice place to see trains passing.
We made it like most hikers do. A hike from Idalgashinna railway station back to Haputale. A part of the station can be seen from here. Most of the way is easy to walk. Just follow the railroad. There are only less trains here so no risk. Also there is enough place to go to the side. You can check the timetable or ask the station master to be sure. Max. train speed in this area is 15 mph.Terrain difficulty is on the last 10m only. Take care and enjoy your trip.
